Overview PenFed is hiring a (Hybrid) Junior Analyst - Financial Planning & Analysis at our Tysons, Virginia location. The primary purpose of this role will be the financial forecasting of company’s balance sheet and income statement, which includes interest income, interest expense and other income/ expense projections and measure actual performance against goals/forecasts. Prepare monthly expense reports and review results with PenFed Business Units' senior leaders. Partner with business lines to develop rolling forecasts, including identifying key risks and opportunities while critically evaluating business assumptions. Provide insightful variance analysis and partner with business lines to deliver key information for decision-making, including development of business cases as needed. Support the multi-year budgeting process, quarterly forecasting, and monthly estimates; load and verify data in OneStream. Improve and automate reporting, develop new reports, metrics, and KPIs to improve forecasting and monitor business unit performance. Leverage current systems and collaborate with stakeholders to optimize and automate expense reporting and forecasting. Create and efficiently maintain expense, forecast, and budgeting models. Qualifications Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered. Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field is required; master’s degree is preferred. Must have advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills. Strong data analysis skills and ability to synthesize data into key insights are necessary Python or knowledge of similar programming languages is a plus. Familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI is preferred. Experience with large datasets and knowledge of software such as SQL, OneStream/Hyperion, and PeopleSoft ERP strongly preferred. Attention to detail and accuracy required. Intermediate research, analytical, and problem-solving skills required. Excellent oral and written communication skills (for presenting expense results to senior management). Able to work both independently and as part of a team. Experience using A.I. tools preferred. Supervisory Responsibility This position will not directly supervise employees. Licenses and Certifications There are no additional certifications required.
