Job description

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Buggy, Cycles & Scooter Maintenance

  • Perform PPM and corrective maintenance of all buggies, bicycles, and electric scooters.
  • Ensure vehicles are maintained per manufacturer guidelines and are always roadworthy.
  • Maintain trailers used for buggy operations.
  • Maintain inventory of spare parts and consumables.
  • Report defects and coordinate timely repairs.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness and workplace safety.

Heavy Equipment Maintenance

  • Carry out maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting for:
    • Genie Lifts
    • Forklifts
    • Bobcats
    • Spider Lifts
    • Club Cars
    • Jetty Cranes
    • Beach Trucks
  • Follow preventive maintenance schedules and keep accurate logs.
  • Ensure all machinery complies with operational and safety standards.
  • Maintain records for all inspections and work performed.
  • Collaborate with procurement for ordering spare parts.
  • Address hydraulic, diesel engine, and electrical issues in heavy equipment.

Bowling Equipment Maintenance

  • Maintain and repair automatic pinsetters, ball returns, scoring systems, foul detectors, and lane mechanisms.
  • Perform complex mechanical and electrical repairs (e.g., limit switches, score table electronics).
  • Clean, lubricate, and adjust all bowling machinery regularly.
  • Keep an updated preventive maintenance log for bowling alley systems.
  • Support customer operations at the control desk as needed.
  • Instruct guests in the use of bowling equipment and systems.
  • Maintain inventory and order supplies for bowling operations.
  • Train and oversee junior staff (e.g., pin chasers).
  • Maintain cleanliness and safe operation of the bowling area.

OCCASIONAL DUTIES

  • Participate in departmental events, special projects, and seasonal functions.
  • Interact with guests, contractors, and other departments in a professional manner.
  • Support other Engineering staff as directed by the Director of Engineering.

GENERAL DUTIES

  • Attend training and departmental meetings as required.
  • Follow all hotel procedures, including:
    • Fire safety
    • Health and safety
    • Hotel facilities knowledge
    • Engineering departmental standards and procedures
    • Environmental hygiene and work area cleanliness
  • Uphold cash handling protocols (if applicable).

COMPETENCIES & REQUIREMENTS

  • Technical diploma or trade certification in mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a multi-skilled technician role.
  • Experience maintaining:
    • Buggies and electric vehicles
    • Heavy industrial equipment
    • Bowling alley systems and pinsetters
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Proficiency with preventive maintenance software (CMMS).
  • Ability to read schematics and technical manuals.
  • Working knowledge of FLS systems and general trades (HVAC, plumbing, electrical).
  • Strong communication skills in English (Arabic is a plus).
  • Physically fit and capable of working on shifts, independently or in a team.
  • Valid driving license preferred (heavy equipment license a plus).
