Job description
The Management Accountant will work closely with the management, technical and operations team in-country to provide proactive, efficient, timely and relevant financial
information to project managers of Malaria Consortium and required for decision making.
The job holder will also ensure the compliance of ail MC financial procedures, contracts and agreements are in line with relevant regulations and laws. Additional key responsibilities include:
Providing assistance to project managers to forecast expenditure, track financial commitments, cash needs and take remedial actions where there are no overspends;
Maintaining an update of coding system for alt programmes;
Coordinating the preparation of aii project budgets and organize an annual budget for review by the Country Finance Manager and Country Director;
Ensuring project managers are supplied with accurate budget codes for all sub-activities and strict adherence to such codes:
Providing support to the Country Finance Manager to prepare updated cash flow forecasts to the head office with support from the Roving Financial Accountant;
A Bachelors degree or international qualification in Accounting or other related discipline is required.
S/he must have a minimum of 5-years working experience in a finance team with two years’ experience as a management accountant.
Previous experience and knowledge of NGO donors and their financial reporting requirements as well as an excellent interpersonal and communication skill is essential for this position
Additional skills required for this position include; good management and organizational skills, report writing skills and an excellent working knowledge of accounting softwares
