Job description
The successful candidate will be required to:
- Provide financial leadership to the business, oversees the controls, budgets and act as an interface with accounting.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliation reviews to highlight any risks and opportunities on monthly basis
- Ensure timely supervision of budget and forecast of the group
- Ensure financial targets are met and drive the business planning process
- Drive the weekly financial reporting process and effective overhead controls.
- Ensure that the company's assets are safeguarded by working closely with internal audit to ensure that appropriate levels of controls are in place and addressed
- Be responsible for complying with legal, regulatory and other standards.
- ICAN, ACA or ACCA qualification in addition to first degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics
- MBA/MSC in finance is an added advantage
- At least 10 years post qualification experience in any of the sectors listed above
- Must have demonstarted experience in financial accounting, budget preparation as well as systems developments and financial controls. Group accounting knowledge will be an added advantage.
- Good knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) is a must
- Critical to this position is interpersonal skills
