SUMMARY
Manages a team of analysts responsible for the analysis of new business system development and existing system improvement. Allocates analysis team resources and monitors deliverables to ensure client needs are met successfully and in a timely fashion. Builds test plans and data. Coordinates with other teams to identify and implement new systems to support business function at effective cost. Manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. Typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required.
Designing, implementing and supporting business intelligence solutions. This hands-on technical role demands excellent knowledge of business processes and methodologies along with a strong analytical and data modeling background. The Business Systems Manager will have direct hands-on experience in applications design, configuration and implementation. This individual will provide expertise and project support for functional and technical processes related all financial tools and processes.
The Business Systems Manager will report to the AVP of Commercial Business Systems and will operate with a focus on application development, continuous improvement, and business analytics. The desired candidate will be a well-rounded individual.
In addition, the Business Systems Manager will provide the necessary skills and experience to:
- Manage functional and operational requirements of all application systems
- Develop and institutionalize procedures to ensure flawless execution of application requirements
- Coordinate subject matter experts across product and operations in utilizing various application systems.
Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates business systems and user needs. Documents requirements, defines scope and objectives, and formulates systems to parallel overall business strategies. Detect, and report system errors and discrepancies, analyze and develop specifications for the correction of errors. Assist in maintaining interfaces between commercial system vendors. Performs functionality and system testing to simulate end user experience. Perform exploratory testing and analysis for quality assurance before an application is released, to determine if the programming fulfills the requirements listed in the specifications of the new product. Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and 6+ years of experience in the field or in a related area. Is familiar with commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the insurance field. Familiar with relational database concepts, and client-server concepts. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. May provide consultation on complex projects and is considered to be the top level contributor/specialist. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Pay Range
$120,000.00 - $150,000.00 AnnualThe pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
