We are seeking a Marketing Automation Specialist to support this mission by helping deliver clear, timely, and compassionate communications that guide patients, caregivers, and healthcare partners throughout the cancer care journey. This role partners closely with marketing, digital, and cross ‑ functional teams to design, execute, and optimize automated email campaigns and digital marketing journeys that are thoughtful, targeted, and data ‑ driven. The Marketing Automation Specialist plays an important role in ensuring messages reach the right audience at the right time, supporting access to care and strengthening trust. Through careful execution, testing, and analysis, this position helps improve engagement while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy, compliance, and respect for patient experience. This is an excellent opportunity for a growing marketing professional to build technical expertise while making a meaningful impact in healthcare. What does the Automated Marketing Specialist do? Under direct supervision, the Marketing Specialist I assists in all aspects of the organization’s marketing program. This role is responsible for marketing functions including, but not limited to: market analysis, market research, marketing plans, field marketing programs, advertising copy development, and product line development. Supports and adheres to company compliance standards, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards. Responsibilities Key Responsibilities Build, execute, and optimize automated email and nurture campaigns that support patient education, engagement, and outreach using platforms such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC). Support day ‑ to ‑ day management of the marketing automation platform, including campaign setup, list segmentation, reporting, integrations, and basic troubleshooting. Deliver patient ‑ centered and accessible email communications that are clear, empathetic, and appropriate for diverse audiences. Assist with lead and audience lifecycle management processes, including segmentation, basic lead scoring, and data hygiene, to improve targeting, engagement, and conversion. Monitor and report on campaign performance metrics such as open rates, click ‑ through rates, and conversions, and share insights to help improve effectiveness. Conduct A/B testing on subject lines, content, and timing to enhance engagement, effectiveness, and overall impact. Collaborate with internal marketing, digital, and creative teams to ensure messaging is consistent, patient ‑ focused, and aligned with Texas Oncology’s brand standards. Ensure all marketing automation activities adhere to email compliance requirements (e.g., CAN-SPAMP) and healthcare data privacy expectations (e.g. HIPAA). Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Information Systems, or a related field. 2–3 years of experience in marketing automation, digital marketing, email marketing, or marketing operations (internship or early ‑ career experience considered). Hands ‑ on experience or foundational knowledge of marketing automation platforms such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC); familiarity with CRM systems like Salesforce is a plus. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, track campaign performance, and identify opportunities for improvement. Basic understanding of database management concepts, including segmentation and data quality practices. Working knowledge of HTML/CSS for simple email or template edits preferred. Clear written and verbal communication skills, strong organization, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset suited to a healthcare environment. Familiarity with project management tools such as Asana and JIRA.
