Job description

Versigent spun out of Aptiv on April 1, 2026. As part of ongoing spinoff activities and IT separation, some documentation may still reference Aptiv, Cyprium, or Versigent. All references should be understood to mean Versigent.

Versigent designs and delivers the systems that move power through modern technology. From vehicles to robotics to energy platforms, our electrical distribution systems enable the next generation of electrified, automated and connected products.

As a standalone company, we combine deep engineering expertise with the speed and focus needed to solve increasingly complex challenges. Our teams move quickly, think with precision and deliver at scale — helping customers do more without adding cost, weight or complexity.

What defines us is how we work: with the agility and momentum of a startup, backed by the experience and discipline of a proven global leader. That combination creates an environment where ideas move faster, ownership is real and impact is visible.

YOUR ROLE

This role is ideal for a courageous, impact-driven professional who is ready to take ownership, make bold decisions, and actively shape and lead the future of the category

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Co-own (together with the respective Category Manager) the development and regular updates of the material category strategy for the assigned portfolio
  • Execute the defined category strategy and ensure alignment with business objectives
  • Monitor market conditions and key cost drivers (raw materials, labor costs, logistics and freight, currency exchange rates) and incorporate insights into the purchasing strategy
  • Continuously screen and scout the market to identify new domestic and overseas suppliers
  • Develop and implement supplier diversification and consolidation plans in line with the defined strategy
  • Organize and lead Business Reviews and Supplier Days; conduct meetings with key suppliers and top management representatives
  • Visit existing and potential new suppliers to review production processes and gain in-depth knowledge of products and technologies
  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve material performance targets within the assigned category
  • Prepare comprehensive negotiation strategies for each key supplier using structured preparation techniques
  • Negotiate terms and conditions, as well as all commercial agreements, to drive year-over-year material cost improvements
  • Ensure volume-change sourcing opportunities are addressed during supplier negotiations
  • Prepare and implement mitigation plans to manage and offset price increases
  • Collaborate with the Legal department on contract negotiations
  • Track supplier performance against targets, communicate gaps to targets, and define and execute GCP (Gap Closure Plan) actions

YOUR BACKGROUND

  • Master’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or Engineering
  • Proven experience in developing purchasing strategies and strategic planning
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in materials purchasing within Tier 1 or Tier 2 automotive organizations, with a strong track record of achievements
  • Strong negotiation skills combined with excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • High level of interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong analytical capabilities and advanced presentation skills (Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Solid understanding of sustainability principles, ethical sourcing, and socially responsible sourcing strategies
  • Experience in managing RFQs and using purchasing tools and systems
  • Ability to prepare negotiation scenarios based on total cost of ownership (TCO) evaluations
  • Good understanding of material cost modeling and should-cost analysis for assigned materials
  • Fluent in English
  • Experience with Power BI (preferred)
  • SAP user experience (preferred)
