Our Director of Nursing in Training (DON-IT) program is designed to prepare the next generation of clinical leaders. This immersive, hands-on experience is designed to develop confident, compassionate, and operationally strong nursing leaders through mentorship, individualized coaching, and real-world clinical leadership exposure. You will gain the clinical, operational, regulatory, and leadership experience needed to succeed as a Director of Nursing in a skilled nursing environment. Position Highlights Gain Hands-On Leadership Experience: Rotate through key clinical and operational areas to understand how nursing leadership impacts quality outcomes, staffing, resident experience, compliance, and overall center success. Develop Clinical and Operational Expertise: Learn essential DON responsibilities including staffing management, clinical reimbursement basics, survey readiness, quality measures, infection prevention, labor management, and interdisciplinary team leadership. Lead Projects That Matter: Participate in project-based assignments focused on improving resident care, quality outcomes, workforce engagement, and operational performance. Your work will support real center and Pod initiatives. Strengthen Leadership Skills: Attend leadership meetings, coaching sessions, and development workshops focused on communication, accountability, culture-building, and leading high-performing clinical teams. Receive Personalized Mentorship: Work directly alongside experienced Directors of Nursing, Nursing Home Administrators, and market clinical leaders who will support your growth through structured mentorship and ongoing feedback. Build Real-World Readiness: Develop confidence in leading clinical teams, managing daily operations, responding to challenges, and driving quality care in a fast-paced skilled nursing environment. Complete a Capstone Project: At the end of the program, present a capstone project focused on a clinical, operational, or workforce initiative to nursing center, Pod, or national leadership. Qualifications *Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, college or university with current registered nurse licensure by the State Board of Nursing. BSN is preferred.
