Job description

Overview:

RMIT Student Connect Concierge provide an authentic peer-to-peer customer service experiences via face to face and digital channels.

The position provides a variety of opportunities to work across multiple different platforms and activities. The role involves answering simple student enquiries, supporting/educating students on how to access and use the many services provided by RMIT, assisting with set up and pack up of different events, triaging enquiries to specific teams, and assisting with the production of student. cards.

Roles within the team are offered on a casual basis to provide a scalable, informed, and mobile workforce which can be quickly increased or reduced to respond to service demand. Whilst there is an ongoing need for RMIT Student Connect Concierge throughout the year, hours will fluctuate according to business needs and rosters are arranged accordingly.

The RMIT Student Connect Concierge team provide a warm and welcoming face for students seeking advice, assistance, information or directions and are an integral part of the RMIT Student Connect team.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide positive, helpful and proactive customer service via all service channels
  • Follow established protocols to support and educate students to adopt self service options.
  • Answer first level enquiries about how to access RMIT services, including booking appointments online or how students can put themselves in a service queue
  • Utilise the University CRM to record all interactions with students.
  • Assist with set up and pack up of events, creative spaces or as instructed by a RMIT Student Connect Coordinator
  • Support in the delivery of student engagement activities
  • Support in the delivery of student card production
  • Learn quickly and keep up-to-date with new University information

Key Selection Criteria

We are looking for someone who:

  • is currently enrolled in an RMIT award program (vocational education, higher education) has demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service, including effective verbal communication and rapport building
  • has demonstrated ability to deliver excellent customer service to a significantly diverse audience
  • has proven ability to exercise initiative, to think creatively, and to present in front of audiences to deliver key message is able to work well in a team and support a positive team culture in line with RMIT’s Code of Conducthas demonstrated drive, enthusiasm and commitment to own learning goals and team goals
  • has demonstrated high level of organisation and ability to multitask
  • will role model RMIT Values
  • has demonstrated reliability, timeliness and flexibility of availability, particularly through peak demand periods (June-August)

Please note this is an on-campus role, we cannot employ/onboard students who are living offshore.

Successful candidates must be able to work on campus, with a preference for those who can work at multiple campus locations; City, Brunswick and Bundoora. Ideally, we are looking for students enrolled at RMIT throughout 2026

Note: Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children Check and other checks as required by the specific role. Maintaining a valid Working With Children Check is a condition of employment at RMIT.
