​Summary: 

In this role, you will work closely with the multiple engineering teams, enterprise architecture, and Cloud Infrastructure teams to design scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions. The Solution Architect will be responsible for defining architecture standards, guiding development teams, improving platform scalability, and ensuring integration across APIs, web applications, and data platforms. You will also mentor engineering teams in the adoption of new practices or solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Manage solution architecture development at a program level, facilitating changes in a coordinated fashion.
• Lead evaluation and selection of technologies.
• Help build proof of concepts (POCs) to incubate new technologies.
• Ensure industry, regulatory, and security standards and practices are followed.
• Advise business stakeholders on software design, translating requirements into secure, scalable, and reliable solutions.
• Assist developers and business stakeholders generate realistic expectations for product timelines based on architecture design/team maturity.
• Design overall solution architecture for apps, data, security, infrastructure, and business continuity.
• Work within the engineering team to realize architectural goals and with peers to ensure the consistent architecture is maintained across the enterprise.
• Identify new frameworks, tools, and libraries to benefit the productivity of engineering teams.
• Maintain a repository of reference architectures that can be used by engineering teams.

Qualifications:

• Relevant degree preferred. Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field a plus.
• 7 or more years’ relevant experience required.
• Experience with infrastructure and application design utilizing PaaS technologies in at least one of the following public clouds: Azure, AWS, GCP.
• Experience with at least one of the following Infrastructure as Code technologies: Pulumi, Terraform, ARM Templates.
• Experience with at least one of the following DevOps platforms: Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Octopus Deploy, Bitbucket, Jira.
• Experience designing the architecture for secure, scalable, public-facing PaaS applications.
• Hands-on experience with .Net, Java, Python and front-end frameworks like Angular/React.
• Experience designing and deploying large-scale data applications using emerging cloud, big data, Azure data factory, Python, Spark, SQL and NoSql solutions.
• Experience coaching a team of developers to help them deploy cloud infrastructure is preferred.
• Experience with large-data processing (multi-terabyte) architectures.

• This is an office based role with an expectation of three days per week on site ( Chicago, IL)

Estimated Hiring Range:

At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $135,200.00 to $236,600.00.

This position is also incentive eligible.
