We are seeking a Junior Aerospace Engineer to join our team and contribute to the analysis and design of space mission solutions, focusing on Ground Segment systems for Earth Observation and innovative technologies such as Optical Communications.
The role requires strong foundations in space dynamics, orbital mechanics, and reference frame systems to support mission operations. The candidate will also contribute to satellite attitude and guidance modelling, enabling precise Earth targeting and optimized transitions between multiple observation targets. The position involves working in a collaborative, Agile SCRUM-based environment within a multidisciplinary engineering team.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyse mission requirements and constraints to define appropriate satellite and system models
Design and support the development of software solutions for Mission Planning systems, including large satellite constellation scenarios
Integrate external satellite dynamics and guidance models (e.g., third-party libraries) into mission planning software frameworks
Contribute to technical documentation, including: Requirements specifications - Concept of Operations (ConOps) - Operations Engineering Plans - User and Administration Manuals - Test Plans and Procedures - Support project reviews and technical assessments when required
Required Skills & Competencies:
Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or related field, with specialization in space dynamics / flight mechanics
Solid knowledge of flight dynamics and orbital mechanics
Experience in Mission Planning system design and/or implementation
Understanding of software design principles
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
Familiarity with quality standards and engineering processes
Additional Skills:
Experience in systems engineering, modelling, and architectural design
Programming skills in Python and Shell scripting
Familiarity with: Java / Microservices architecture (Docker, Kubernetes) / Cesium / GitLab or similar DevOps platforms
