1GBS Chevron Global Business Services (GBS), located in Buenos Aires (Puerto Madero), Argentina, is accepting applications for the position of Web Developer. Successful candidates will join the IT Organization, which is part of a multifunction service and technical center with a workforce of more than 1800 employees that deliver business services and solutions to the corporation across the globe.
The Web Developer (Front‑End / UX) role is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining user‑centric web applications using Angular and modern front‑end technologies. This position emphasizes UX, usability, and responsive design, ensuring high‑quality user experiences across devices and screen sizes. The role will contribute directly to the Pricing tool modernization initiative, including the replacement of the actual tool platform, working closely with Pricing stakeholders to simplify complex workflows and improve analyst productivity. The developer will collaborate with designers, product owners, and backend engineers to deliver intuitive, performant, and scalable web solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain modern, responsive front‑end applications using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, and Angular.
Translate UI/UX designs, wireframes, and prototypes into clean, maintainable, and reusable front‑end code.
Focus on usability, accessibility, and visual consistency, ensuring web interfaces are intuitive and aligned with user workflows.
Collaborate with UX designers, developers, and project managers to ensure solutions are both functional and visually appealing.
Integrate front‑end components with backend services and APIs by collaborating with server‑side teams using technologies such as .NET, Python, or Node.js.
Participate in testing and debugging activities to ensure cross‑browser compatibility, performance, and reliability.
Optimize web applications for speed, performance, and scalability, following web standards and best practices.
Use Git (preferably Azure DevOps) for version control, code reviews, and collaborative development.
Maintain clear documentation for front‑end components, UX patterns, and development workflows.
Stay up to date with emerging front‑end and UX trends, frameworks, and best practices, applying them where appropriate.
Required Qualifications
4–6 years of experience in web development, with a strong focus on front‑end development and UI/UX.
Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript / TypeScript
Hands‑on experience with Angular (or similar frameworks such as React)
Experience creating responsive and adaptive designs for different devices and screen sizes
Basic understanding of backend technologies such as .NET, Python, or Node.js for effective collaboration (not deep ownership).
Experience using Git in a team‑based development environment.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for debugging and improving front‑end applications.
Ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams and clearly communicate technical concepts.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Design, or related field.
Experience working on enterprise or commercial web applications.
Familiarity with UX principles, accessibility standards, and design systems.
Experience using design tools such as Figma or Adobe XD to collaborate with designers.
Exposure to pricing, financial, or SAP‑integrated systems.
Familiarity with Agile / Scrum development environments.
Knowledge of additional front‑end frameworks (React, Vue.js) is a plus.
Web or front‑end certifications are a plus.
