Job description

About the Role

As a Distribution Automation Technician, you are responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting control systems in automated distribution centers. You work hands-on with PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and industrial networks to ensure the smooth operation of MHE and automation infrastructure. You play a key role in system reliability, documentation, and safety compliance.

What You'll Do

• Diagnose and repair faults in PLCs, HMIs, and control panels, utilizing advanced troubleshooting techniques to quickly identify root causes and restore system functionality with minimal downtime. • Perform preventative maintenance on automation systems, ensuring optimal performance and reducing the risk of unexpected failures through scheduled inspections and proactive interventions. • Support system integration and commissioning activities, working closely with engineering teams to implement new technologies, validate system performance, and ensure seamless deployment into live operations. • Maintain accurate documentation of control systems and configurations, including wiring diagrams, software versions, and change logs, to support compliance and future troubleshooting efforts. • Ensure compliance with safety and electrical standards, adhering to all regulatory requirements and company policies while promoting a culture of safety in every task performed. • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams, providing technical guidance, sharing insights, and contributing to cross-functional problem-solving to enhance system reliability and operational efficiency.

Who You Are

• Hands-on experience with PLC logic, VFDs, HMIs, and industrial sensors, including troubleshooting, programming, and system optimization to maintain peak operational performance. • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation, applying this knowledge to diagnose and resolve complex control system issues efficiently. • Proven ability to maintain accurate documentation, including system configurations, maintenance records, and change logs, while communicating technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently on technical tasks and collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams to achieve operational goals. • Adaptability and initiative in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating ownership of tasks and commitment to continuous improvement in automation processes. • Familiarity with industrial protocols and safety regulations.
