Job description

Senior Event Marketing Manager (Contract)

  • Term: 4-months to start, 30-40hrs/wk. Potential to convert to full-time in the future based on performance and business needs
  • Location: Flexible, US based. SF or NYC preferred
  • Compensation: $60-75/hr

Background

Listen Labs is an AI-powered research platform that helps teams uncover insights from customer interviews in hours, not months. We help customers analyze conversations, surface themes, and make faster, smarter product decisions.

Company highlights — entirely product-led

  • World-Class Team: Founded by serial entrepreneurs (previous AI exit), former co-founders, and talent from Jane Street, Twitter, Stripe, Affirm, Bain, Goldman Sachs, and many more Sequoia-backed startups (plus IOI/ICPC backgrounds).
  • Hypergrowth: We're a fast-growing team backed by top-tier investors that's grown several-fold in the past year, and we're set on multiplying that again. We move fast, care deeply about craft, and love working with people who take ownership.
  • Traction: Rapid growth across segments with enterprise wins at Google, Microsoft, Nestlé, and P&G.
  • Performance: Industry-leading win rate driven by a highly differentiated product.
  • Market Validation: Consistently winning customers across all segments with over six-figure lands that lead to quick expansions.
  • Viral Product: Interviews are shared with tens of thousands of viewers, fueling PLG, organic expansion, and daily inbound from Fortune 500s.

About the Role

We're looking for a Contract Senior Event Marketing Manager to own and elevate how Listen shows up at events, from intimate dinners with researchers to our presence at various industry conferences. This is a high-ownership role for someone who loves the craft of bringing people together, sweats the operational details, and knows that a great event is felt long before and after the doors open.

You'll partner closely with marketing, sales, product, design, and leadership to make sure every event tells a coherent story and meaningfully moves our relationship with the research community forward.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end execution of Listen's presence at a slate of industry conferences over the contract period, including strategy, logistics, vendors, onsite, and follow-through
  • Design event experiences (sponsorships, dinners, side events, brand activations) that attract the right audience, generate genuine excitement, and leave a lasting impression
  • Partner cross-functionally with sales, product marketing, design, and leadership to ensure events ladder up to our broader campaigns and GTM goals
  • Manage the operational backbone, e.g. timelines, budgets, vendor relationships, swag, staffing, run-of-show, with a level of polish that makes everything look effortless
  • Capture learnings after each event and feed them back into how we plan the next one

About you

  • 4+ years running B2B events, with a track record of owning events end-to-end
  • Strong project management instincts. You build the plan, hold the timeline, and don't let details slip
  • Comfortable in ambiguity and at a startup pace; happy to roll up your sleeves on the unglamorous parts
  • Excellent taste. You understand how events feel, not just how they run
  • Experience working alongside sales and marketing to drive pipeline and brand outcomes from events
  • Bonus: experience in B2B SaaS, with researcher / designer / PM audiences, or with research conferences specifically
