Role Overview
We are looking for a Solutions Architect (ArcGIS) to join our Elastic Platform Operations (EPO)/Managed Services team. In this role, you will lead the design, integration, and ongoing optimization of ArcGIS Enterprise within our customers’ modern cloud data platforms, ensuring scalable, secure, and high-performing managed services. You will collaborate closely with clients, platform engineers, and practice leadership to align data platform architectures with strategic business objectives and phData’s Operational Maturity Framework (OMF) best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Client Delivery
- Own and drive solution architecture and implementation for large-scale cloud data platform and ArcGIS Enterprise initiatives for managed services clients.
- Translate business and geospatial analytics requirements into technical solutions across Snowflake, AWS, Azure, and ArcGIS that align with phData methodologies, standards, and best practices.
- Ensure managed services engagements are delivered on time, within scope, and with measurable improvements in platform performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Drive platform optimization through automation and DevOps best practices, strengthening the scalability, observability, and performance of modern cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake).
- Enable seamless integration of ArcGIS within broader data ecosystems, supporting reliable geospatial data access alongside enterprise analytics platforms such as Snowflake.
- Lead performance investigations and tuning across ArcGIS Enterprise and integrated data platforms, identifying root causes and implementing sustainable resolutions.
- Plan and execute upgrades, configuration changes, and high-availability deployments for ArcGIS Enterprise to support resilient, 24x7 operations.
Collaboration & Leadership
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners across infrastructure, data engineering, cloud, and support teams to deliver successful client outcomes.
- Provide technical and strategic leadership during discovery sessions, design reviews, and project delivery for ArcGIS and data platform initiatives.
- Ensure high quality in deliverables through code reviews, documentation, runbooks, testing, and operational governance.
- Partner with practice and account leaders to identify opportunities to expand managed services, optimize platform operations, and standardize delivery patterns.
- Manage multiple client engagements simultaneously, balancing priorities and proactively communicating risks, issues, and recommendations.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to client stakeholders, clearly articulating options and tradeoffs to guide platform optimization and investment decisions.
Practice & Firm Contribution
- Contribute to internal initiatives such as operational runbooks, accelerators, templates, and playbooks that improve the delivery of managed data platforms and ArcGIS services.
- Champion phData’s Operational Maturity Framework (OMF) by promoting best practices for strategy, core operations, and team enablement within client environments.
- Mentor teammates by sharing lessons learned, leading internal knowledge sessions, and contributing to communities of practice around ArcGIS, cloud data platforms, and automation.
- Represent phData with professionalism in all interactions, communicating clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
About You
You are a strategic, client-focused problem solver who enjoys designing and operating scalable, secure platforms. You combine deep ArcGIS Enterprise expertise with a strong understanding of cloud data platforms and are comfortable leading complex implementations from discovery through steady-state operations. You thrive in a managed services environment, collaborating with distributed global teams, and you are motivated by continuous improvement, automation, and measurable business impact.
