Job description

Inspection and Scanning

Supporting the accurate assembly of scale models, including full builds from scratch.

Measuring and checking parts against specification using metrology and 3D scanning tools.

Identifying, documenting and reporting faults and non‑conformances.

Applying and helping to develop our quality control processes for models and sub‑assemblies.

Carrying out scanning and dimensional inspections of components, assemblies and complete models, working autonomously within agreed requirements.

Providing inspection and quality control support to the Model Shop and Additive Manufacturing teams, ensuring any quality issues are quickly understood and addressed.

Process improvement and collaboration

Working closely with Model Shop, Design and Aero teams to refine our scale models, processes and tools that support F1 car development.

Suggesting, investigating and helping to implement new methods, techniques and systems to improve quality and efficiency.

Supporting and guiding colleagues in the use of quality control and measurement tools and processes.

Representing the department professionally and positively at all times.

Maintaining and caring for inspection and measurement equipment.

Managing your workload so tasks are completed to high standards within tight deadlines.

Being flexible with working hours and approach to accommodate project and testing demands.

Background in automotive or engineering, ideally F1.

Strong numerical skills and confidence interpreting engineering specifications.

Proven experience programming CMMs with PC‑DMIS.

Experience using inspection arms and software such as PolyWorks.

Solid understanding of GD&T.

Comfortable using traditional physical inspection tools.

Excellent knowledge of Leica (or similar) hardware and software, including automated inspection program creation.

Familiarity with measurement arms and scanning/inspection software (e.g. PolyWorks, Leica, Creaform).

Able to interrogate CAD assemblies and read complex engineering drawings.

Confident using IT in a Windows environment (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Clear, confident communicator with a practical, can‑do attitude.

Enthusiastic and flexible when supporting a busy model shop environment.

Able to suggest and help implement improvements to both model construction and processes.

Proactively aware of Health & Safety and committed to safe working practices.

Calm and effective under pressure, with strong time‑management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.

Self‑motivated, organised and highly attentive to detail to ensure the delivery of high‑quality work
