Job description

  • Ensure that terminals are cleaned and maintained and there is adherence to all safety standards
  • Storage handling
  • Operation of equipments such as cranes, forklifts etc.
  • Receive cargo and ensure timely sampling, loading and unloading of cargo
  • Use a variety of equipment such as bulldozers and forklifts to ensure proper lifting, transporting and storing products
  • Monitor loading and unloading of products and advise shift supervisors about safe operations
  • Ensure that terminal staff is aware of safety practices and protocols and that they follow them religiously
  • Align and set up tanks, pumps and pipelines for product transfer purposes
  • Ensure that effective coordination prevails between terminal services and barges, railcars and tank trucks
  • Assume responsibility of maintenance and repair of terminal loading racks and equipment
  • Maintain knowledge of industry terminal regulations and ensure that procedures are performed in accord with them
  • Create and maintain effective relationships with all members of the terminal
  • Respond to emergencies related to terminal, pipeline, rail or marine related issues
  • Oversee computer inventory control systems and pipeline product movements
  • Maintain familiarity with terminal operations and act as a backup to lead terminal operators
  • Handle tank gauging activities and troubleshoot faulty terminal processes
  • Document product quality assurance information by using a series of analytic testing equipment
  • Handle stock balancing and reporting activities
  • Indulge in hardware and software purchasing activities and ensure that housekeeping activities around the terminal are in good order

  • Physical dexterity and flexibility
  • 10 years upstream experience
  • A technical degree
