Clifford Chance Amsterdam Employment Team – Who You Will Work With
Are you looking to join a dynamic, fast-growing team where every day brings new challenges? Do you want to work with clients who lead their industries today and drive disruption tomorrow? Do you thrive at the intersection of innovation and legal technology? Welcome to Clifford Chance. As a unified, global partnership, we pride ourselves on our approachable, collaborative, and forward-thinking culture.
Our Employment team in Amsterdam is composed of 12 ambitious and collaborative lawyers, including a Partner, a Counsel, two Senior Advisors, two Senior Associates, three Associates, and three trainee lawyers. We foster a close-knit, collaborative environment where ambition and innovation are matched with a focus on personal development and enjoyment at work.
The team’s primary focus is advising clients on strategic issues, giving you the opportunity to handle a diverse range of matters from day one. This includes advising on executive-level hiring and dismissals, designing remuneration policies, conducting investigations into issues like #MeToo and integrity breaches, and offering strategic counsel on incentive plans, (cross-border) restructurings, works council disputes, employee data protection, complex transfer of employees matters, pensions, and outsourcing. You'll work with top-tier international clients, including leaders in technology, fintech, and other corporate sectors.
What Will Your Workday Look Like?
- Collaborating closely with team members in Amsterdam and other international Clifford Chance offices to deliver high-end, strategic employment advice on matters such as boardroom issues, terminations, reorganizations, works council negotiations, and investigations.
- Representing clients in court when disputes require litigation, either as part of a broader team or independently, depending on the matter.
- Partnering with our M&A and Finance teams to advise on employment and works council matters in international transactions.
- Enhancing your legal expertise and skills through knowledge sessions and practical experience.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with client peers, leveraging the firm’s resources to grow and deepen those connections.
Your Experience
- A stellar employment lawyer with 5–8 years of experience, predominantly gained in a law firm.
- A strong academic background with excellent credentials.
- Fluent in both Dutch and English.
- A team player who thrives in a collaborative environment and is driven to achieve shared goals.
- Innovative and solution-oriented, with a "make-it-work" attitude to tackle challenges head-on.
- You should be technically rigorous, have first class drafting ability and highly developed analytical and project management skills.
What Do We Offer You?
- Flexible working arrangements, including a hybrid office and remote setup.
- A dynamic and challenging environment with opportunities to work on high-level, strategic employment matters.
- Extensive development opportunities, including international experience, to help you develop your career.
- A diverse range of independent work and collaboration with our Corporate and Finance teams.
- An energetic and rapidly expanding team focused on growth and excellence.
