Manufacturing Cost Accountant

Job description

• Oversee all cost accounting activities, including standard cost calculation, actual cost tracking, inventory valuation, and monthly closing for machinery production. 
• Conduct deep-dive variance analysis and investigate root causes with production teams. 
• Partner with Engineering to validate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and routings, and to cost new product introductions (NPI) and custom projects.
• Prepare and deliver standardized regular cost performance reports to plant and finance management, highlighting key trends, variances, and risks.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and KPIs (e.g., cost per unit, scrap rates, overhead absorption efficiency) to monitor operational performance.
• Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and modelling to support business decisions. 
• Maintain and update global reporting templates and databases, ensuring consistency and compliance with group accounting guidance. 
• Ensure robust internal controls over inventory and production costing in line with both local and global polices.

Job requirement: 

• Bachelor's degree. Major: Finance, Accounting or related major.  
• Minimum 3 years of cost accounting reporting experience, specifically in machinery, heavy equipment manufacturing. 
• Proven experience in a multinational company environment, with a clear understanding of the reporting and collaboration dynamics between local entities and global headquarters.
• Fluent English communication skills (verbal and written) are critical. 
• Expertise in manufacturing cost reporting and variance analysis; experience in preparing and submitting reports for a corporate audience is essential.
• Advanced ERP skills and expert-level proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint for creating management reports.
• Proactive, outgoing, and collaborative personality. Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and the ability to build effective working relationships across different geographies and time zones.
