Job description
Position Title: Accounting Manager
Summary: Under the general direction of the Controller, manage the day-to-day functions of the accounting department in conformance with company policies and procedures. Also, the supervision of 2 direct reports.
Job Function
- Manages the day-to-day operations of the Accounting Department, including the accounts payable and receivable functions.
- Supervises the general ledgers in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Maintain adequate system of internal controls, and document company accounting policies.
- Prepare monthly account analysis and maintain accurate accounting records for the company.
- Responsible for month end close. Ensure accurate and timely weekly, monthly, quarterly and year end close.
- Assist with payroll processing and related reporting. Ensure payroll is processed in an accurate, compliant and timely manner.
- Provide monthly financial statements and analysis reports for management team. Support of budget and forecast activities.
- Monitor and manage taxation issues with outside tax advisors. Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting and tax filing requirements, including payroll.
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and work cross functionally to design and implement changes.
- Coordinate the information and account analysis to external auditors for the annual audit.
- Manage relations with credit reporting agencies & operational credit process.
- Perform special projects or assignments for management team as required.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in accounting.
- 5 years of experience in accounting and financial management.
- Supervisory experience in AP and AR
- Experience with accounting processes within an ERP environment.
- In-depth knowledge and experience with payroll calculation and processing.
- Knowledge of applicable local, state and federal rules and laws.
- Well-developed analytical, organizational and managerial skills.
- Ability to maintain confidential information.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Strong attention to detail.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel & Powerpoint);
- Experience with payroll applications (such as ADP, etc) highly preferred.
Salary up to $80K + Bonus
