Job Description:
The Production Team Member is an entry-level role responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting machinery and equipment along a manufacturing assembly line. This includes installing components onto in-process products, sorting and packing materials or finished goods, and performing quality checks. Team members are expected to maintain accurate production records and uphold safety, quality, and efficiency standards. Work is routine and follows established procedures under close supervision.
Key Responsibilities
(Additional duties may be assigned by local management depending on site-specific needs and individual strengths.)
Machine Operation & Assembly:
Operate machinery and equipment at a fixed workstation
Install parts and components onto products, assemblies, or sub-assemblies
Monitor equipment and perform basic troubleshooting and adjustments as needed
Material Handling:
Move, sort, and pack raw materials or finished goods
Use proper handling techniques and mechanical assist devices where applicable
Quality Control:
Conduct required quality checks and inspections
Complete quality check sheets and documentation accurately
Identify and report defective or nonconforming products
Production Reporting:
Maintain accurate daily records of production activities for performance tracking
Team Collaboration:
Follow instructions from supervisors and collaborate effectively with team members
Assist others as needed to meet production goals
5S & Housekeeping:
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
Participate in daily cleaning and organization tasks
Flexibility:
Willingness to cross-train and perform various tasks within different departments, shifts, or lines as needed
Continuous Improvement:
Identify and share opportunities for improving productivity, quality, and safety
Safety & Environmental Compliance:
Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
Comply with environmental regulations, including proper waste disposal and handling of hazardous materials
Support ISO 14001 environmental management initiatives
Physical Requirements
Standing/Walking: Up to 10–12 hours per day
Lifting/Carrying: Up to 30–35 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift
Reaching: Frequent upward and downward reaching to retrieve or install parts
Handling/Dexterity: Frequent use of hands for assembling small parts and handling materials
Vision: Required for inspecting parts and assembly work
Repetitive Motion: Frequent repetitive tasks related to part assembly and materials handling
Overtime: Must be available for daily or weekend overtime beyond 40 hours per week
Required Skills & Abilities
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Basic math skills
Ability to complete production paperwork, including quality check sheets
Mechanical aptitude to make minor machine adjustments
Willingness to work in a team-based, fast-paced environment
Strong work ethic and ability to maintain focus and accuracy during repetitive tasks
Must perform duties in a professional and ethical manner
