Job description

This role on the Versant News Programming Strategy team will be integral in the successful implementation of MS NOW’s program schedules across multiple platforms. This individual will be responsible for ensuring all programming info is input and maintained in our scheduling system, executing any programming changes and communicating key scheduling information to various other teams throughout the organization. While primarily supporting MS NOW, this role will also provide cross-brand support for CNBC.

Please note: This is a short term position with an estimated duration of 6-12 months.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Create, maintain and distribute MS NOW’s program schedules and all subsequent revisions.
  • Set up/manage all metadata pertaining to MS NOW original series in internal systems and with external partners (i.e. Gracenote). This includes material ID numbers, titles, descriptions, talent, platform restrictions and graphics requirements for all broadcasts
  • Publish daily episodes of MS NOW series to all digital and TV everywhere platforms including set top box VOD and MS NOW desktop sites and apps.
  • Monitor TVE/VOD platforms to ensure full episodes have been published successfully and troubleshoot any delays.
  • Create, maintain and distribute program schedules for FAST channels under the MS NOW Program Strategy’s purview.
  • Work closely with the Global Media Operations group, MS NOW producers, Marketing and PR teams to manage MS NOW’s program schedules, communicate any revisions and field questions.
  • Maintain and update various scheduling documents used by the Program Strategy team.
  • Become fully proficient in all Versant internal scheduling systems including Compass, VTM and Translator.
  • Ad hoc special tasks and projects such as creation of presentation slides, ratings research and competitive tracking, including support of CNBC initiatives.

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

  • 1+ years experience in television planning, particularly live programming
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint), Slack and Zoom
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Flexible day-to-day schedule, with ability/willingness to work overtime in breaking news situations (after hours and weekends)
  • Willingness to travel to Englewood Cliffs, NJ office on a weekly basis, as needed.
  • Awareness of the TV landscape including traditional networks and platforms such as Netflix, Disney+, Hulu and Amazon Prime
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and drive them to completion
  • Strong interpersonal skills
