Job description
The Water Sports Guide is responsible for assisting with the operation of the water sports activities in a safe and appropriate manner. He/she must conduct all activities according to the Water Sports Operation Guidelines under an Instructors supervision. The Water Sports Centre must be cleaned and tidied along with the equipment pre-op and post-op. Also responsible for maintenance and securing of all equipment and Centre pre-op and post-op.
Employee assists skilled professionals in performance of their work and to carry out tasks under close supervision of senior staff.
- Fluent in English
- Have a good level of physical fitness and stamina
- Possess an outgoing personality
- Experience of working in a Water Sports environment (Desirable)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Have a good level of physical fitness and stamina
- Fluent in English. Other foreign languages are added advantage.
- Possess an outgoing personality
- Catamaran and Windsurf Basic License (VDWS or RYA)
- EFR Basic License
- Ability to deliver fun, engaging, safe and informative Dinghy and/or Windsurfing tuition
- Skilled in safety and on water rescue practice
- Knowledge of current Sailing/Windsurfing industry (desirable)
- Ability to rig and de-rig dinghy and windsurf kit and assist guests with this on a daily basis
- Ability to effectively communicate with guests of all ages, management, and other staff
- Ability to work well within a team and maintain effective working relationships
- The ability to confidently hold a conversation in English
