Job description
Lead CNS Medical Manager, Medical is responsible for leading and implementation of the overall CNS Medical strategy in relation to the disease area for pre-approved and approved Biogen products. He/she will have direct reports consisting of Medical Managers and MSLs, to facilitate the operationalization of the strategy. Key Accountabilities: 1.Primary internal responsible for the therapeutic area for CNS: -provide strong strategic and operational leadership and management of the CNS Medical team to ensure high medical excellence and development of medical managers and MSLs -ensure a highly operational team that works in a compliant environment -Provide affiliate medical input into regional / global medical strategy leveraging local customer insights -Establish and maintain TA CNS KOL management plans and strategy -Develop and maintain scientific relationships with KOLs to create awareness and understanding of the therapeutic area and Biogen’s products, and facilitate scientific exchange with KOLs -Lead development of the affiliate medical plan, partnering with the affiliate management team across functions to define, establish and execute a coherent local business plan that addresses patient needs -Develop and manage budgets for medical activities and provides input into the affiliate budgeting and planningprocess -Facilitate sharing of best practices and knowledge across products and locations
- Responsible for Medical strategy and realization of all aspects of the CNS Medical plan: -Lead medical portion of IPPP (integrated product planning process) including planning and execution. Provide medical and technical input into medically accurate development of brand promotional materials -Medical Information: Prepare, manage and provide medical information enquiries including, but not limited to, medical letters, slide kits, publications, FAQs, and formulary dossiers, from internal and external stakeholders -Act with the ultimate goal of providing timely, accurate, and balanced medical information, and support the organization and running of a call center
- Medical Communication and Exchange: -Share medical expertise by providing medical information training support to internal stakeholders (including but not limited to, regional medical groups, MSLs, Sales representatives, and other field-based representatives) -Organize appropriate medical events to increase the medical knowledge of the products as well as disease treatment and its advances. -Develop and leverage medical/scientific insights through(but not limited to) attendance at scientific meetings to further develop own knowledge base in line with company and medical strategy -Conduct/attend/present at Advisory Boards initiated by the affiliate organization if there is a clear need for specific medical input
- Early TA Pipeline and Support of life cycle management/ regulatory strategies -Leverage (unmet) medical needs in order to support additional lifecycle opportunities based on patient needs on a rolling basis through the development cycle e.g. in collaboration with development or market access -Support on regulatory strategies for registration of new products or line extensions -Actively engage regional thought leaders, investigators and potential investigators in two-way scientific communication around IIT/phase IV studies -Post Marketing Studies: Liaise with key internal stakeholders to help develop, secure approval for and implement independent post approval studies that have the potential to support Biogen products -Advise on locally driven early stage clinical trial plans in close collaboration with clinical development and Market access -Lead Publication strategy planning and its execution. Lead activities related article publications, presentations at congresses and symposia, and other events. And other job duties that may be assigned. May be modified at any time as business needs require.
