Job description
The Medical Training Manager is required to develop and maintain the Medical Deaprtment's disease and therapeutic area knowledge, including pipeline and competitor products as well as to idenify gaps in soft skills and medical capability building in order to execute our Medical processes effectively. The role is responsible for the develoment, maintenace and implementation of in-depth medical training including: therapeutic area knowledge, clinical, business and soft skill training programs for the medical team in alignment with the Japan Medical initiatives. This will involve a certain level of vendor management. Budget Management of the training budget and AOP planning is required. The role is required to provide medical training for all new field hires across Biogen Japan. The role will also liaise with representatives from key functions in Biogen (e.g., Global, Regional & Local Medical teams, Research & Development, Marketing, Commercial and Public and Government Affairs) to deliver successful training for BJ colleagues, (such as visiting professor programs &, CSR programs).
Accountability Descriptions
Plannning and Execution of Medical Training Create the medical/scientific annual training plan at affiliate level by analyzing the training needs of different medical therapeutic area teams. ?Plan an annual affiliate educational program for the affiliate with the Affiliate Medical Director, Medical Heads of Therapeutic Areas, Marketing Leads, District Sales Managers, Market Access Lead, R&D Director, etc. ?Work closely with TA Leads and Managers to ensure the implementation of the training plan and implement actions and improvement following the training ?Coordinates and plans the scientific, technical, and mandatory training sessions involving and in collaboration with other functions ?Measure the training success by evaluating and verifying the application of the competencies acquired, including obtaining appropriate feedback after each training session ?Ensure training tracking in line with internal procedure requirements ?Create, tailor and maintain the scientific/medical training requirements for new hires ?Create, maintain and update training SOP
"Material development Develop internal educational materials (e.g. slides sets, training manuals, e-learning modules) and ensure they are ?Continuously update training materials and educational content at least twice a year (following important congresses) ?Assist to define, improve and update training tools and methods to deliver the learning programs & assessment ?Manage vendor negotiations, where applicable, with third parties ?Ensure all vendor POs, contracts and invoices are completed in a timely and compliant manner "
Communicate closely and constantly with Medical Managers, Global Medical Training team, as well as Global Medical Therapeutic Area Directors to be abreast of new scientific/medical information that affiliate staff will need to be trained on. ?Communicates and collaborates with Global/Regional Medical Excellence & Operations team to roll-out soft skills enhancement programs in the affiliate. ?Ensure the local team is updated with all relevant global training material as needed ?Build and foster good working relationship with global training team "
2-3 years of pharma industry in medical affairs, good understanding of the medical functional processes and compliance regulations within the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry.Pharm D or PhD Degree Business English and Japanese
