Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled ER Nurse Manager to oversee a busy 64-bed Emergency Department in the Kansas City area. This Level II Trauma Center manages approximately 63,000 visits annually (180 daily) and frequently cares for high-acuity trauma cases. The ER Manager will provide strong leadership, guiding paramedics, secretaries, and techs while ensuring patient-centered, safe, and efficient care.

Responsibilities

  • Direct daily ER operations and staff assignments.

  • Supervise and evaluate ER staff, promoting growth and accountability.

  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.

  • Collaborate with physicians and leadership to drive quality outcomes.

  • Oversee scheduling, budgets, and productivity metrics.

  • Support new staff through orientation and training, while ensuring continuing education.

  • Drive department improvements through safety and quality initiatives.

Required:

  • Active RN license (Missouri or Compact).

  • Associate Degree or Nursing Diploma in Nursing.

  • Minimum 2 years of recent acute care Emergency Department Charge RN experience.

  • BLS within 30 days, ACLS within 90 days, ENPC and TNCC within 1 year.

Preferred:

  • BSN or higher degree in Nursing.

  • Previous leadership/management experience in a high-volume ER.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive pay: $53.12 – $61.99/hr DOE.

  • $25,000 sign-on bonus (with 2-year agreement).
