Overview
Join a 50-bed Cardiac Medical/Telemetry unit caring for high-acuity med-surg cardiac patients—CHF, Afib, chronic renal failure, and complex comorbidities—without ICU-level interventions. Unit metrics: 6:1 ratio (targeting 5:1), ~5-day LOS. You’ll collaborate with cardiology, ED, and inpatient teams inside a high-performing hospital with stroke and open-heart programs serving a fast-growing community.
Responsibilities
Perform focused cardiac assessments; continuous telemetry monitoring with rapid recognition/escalation of rhythm changes.
Safe medication administration (diuretics, antiarrhythmics, anticoagulation, cardio-protective therapies); precise documentation of responses and adverse events.
Coordinate diagnostics/consults; partner on throughput, discharge readiness, and readmission reduction.
Deliver clear education on disease management (HF zones, anticoagulation safety, rhythm follow-up) and post-discharge care.
Uphold safety bundles (falls, CLABSI/CAUTI prevention), core measures, and excellent handoffs.
Required
Active Florida RN (or compact; obtain active FL within 60 days if compact).
Nursing Diploma/ASN (BSN preferred).
1+ year RN experience (hospital acute care strongly preferred).
BLS (AHA) at start.
Also Considered
LTACH, Home Health, or Rehab backgrounds with ≥1 year RN experience and strong telemetry/med-surg skills ready to transition to acute.
Nice to Have
National certification (e.g., PCCN, RN-BC); strong ECG/strip interpretation; service-minded communication and solid PC/documentation skills.
Compensation & Incentives
Base: $30.76–$41.50/hr (experience-based).
Sign-On: $10,000 Days • $15,000 Nights — 2% on 1st/2nd paycheck; balance in 6-month increments through commitment term.
Relocation: Case-by-case.
