Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist

Overview

A leading acute care hospital in Hermitage, TN is hiring a Special Procedures Technologist to join its cardiovascular and interventional radiology team. This role involves supporting diagnostic and interventional cardiac, peripheral, and electrophysiology procedures while ensuring high-quality patient care and compliance with safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Assist interventional physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiac and peripheral angiographic studies.

• Scrub and circulate in the Special Procedures/Cath Lab/EP Lab setting.

• Administer contrast media following age- and weight-specific guidelines.

• Prepare and maintain sterile trays and sterile fields according to hospital protocols.

• Monitor and record hemodynamic measurements, valve area readings, and case data.

• Initiate and maintain IV access, administer medications safely, and document all procedures.

• Properly measure and dispose of radioactive waste in compliance with regulatory requirements.

Candidates must have one of the following certifications:

• Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) – CCI

• OR ARRT certification as a Registered Radiologic Technologist [RT(R)] with relevant training

Additional Requirements:

• BLS certification – Required

• ACLS certification within 6 months of hire – Required

• Minimum 1 year of experience in Special Procedures, Cath Lab, or EP Lab – Preferred

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
