Job Description

The UI Design & Development Lead is responsible for the delivery of new prototypes and UI architecture using existing design methodologies defined by the organization. You bring 5 to 7+ years of experience as a UI designer and developer working on web-based and/or mobile applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Design & develop front-end prototypes using
  1. HTML/HTML5,
  2. CSS/CSS3,
  3. JavaScript/jQuery,
  4. MVC
  • Create consistent, high quality user interface mockups/walk-throughs for review with peers and Design Leads
  • Initiate liaison with technical and non-technical staff to ensure successful implementation of web/desktop applications by refining user interface specifications and requirements and develop design solutions that supports ease of future enhancements
  • Responsible for web design, page/template construction and integration of graphics, video, text and other content from a variety of sources to achieve effective layout
  • Propose, build and maintain information architecture, design/interaction template and style guide
  • Document functional and design requirements as appropriate
  • The creation and documentation of PowerPoint/Visio presentations from a marketing approach

  • Other - knowledgeable and hands-on experience in the technologies:
  1. Adobe InDesign,
  2. Adobe Photoshop,
  3. OmniGraffle,
  4. Adobe Flash,
  5. Team Foundation Server (TFS),
  6. SharePoint 2013
  7. Understanding .NET MVC and SQL is a plus
  8. Experience with iOS development is a plus


    Desired Skills and Experience
  • An outstanding portfolio of work showcasing mobile and web solutions
  • Knowledgeable and hands-on experience in the technologies (JavaScript, HTML/HTML5, CSS/CSS3, jQuery. InDesign, Photoshop, OmniGraffle, Flash, HTML5, TFS, MVC, SharePoint 2013)
  • Strong eye for detail of visual designs, including composition, layout information architecture, grid layouts and responsive/progressive design
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, storyboards, illustrations, high fidelity layouts, and other graphical assets that visually communicate technical concepts.
    • A passion for clean, simple, accessible and functional design
    • Thorough knowledge of the principles of user-centered design, information architecture and usability and employs practical skills, techniques and strategies for their application
    • Good understanding of the life cycle of web development including analysis, design, construction, implementation and support
    • Ability to assess user needs and support these in design solutions
    • Effectively communicates at the appropriate level (technical or business) for the audience
    • Ability to explain designs and interactions to stakeholders and project team members
    • Excellent communication capability, both verbal and written
    • Ability to explain technical information to non-technical users
    • Ability to conduct presentations and facilitate meetings as required
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently and on projects in fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
    • Excellent organizational, analytical and problem solving skills
    • Minimum 5+ years of design and development experience
    • A self-starter who is tenacious and creative in finding ways to get things done
    • The ability to meet deadlines and exceed goals
    • Understanding .NET MVC and SQL is a plus
    • Experience with iOS development is a plus
    • Strong portfolio of past projects is required prior to interview selection

 

 

 

USC or GC only. It's a contract to hire position. 6 months contract.
