What you’ll do
This is an excellent opportunity to enhance your current skill base and join us as a Complex Care Assistant. You will have full training and clinical support to develop and enhance skills in various complex areas such as tracheotomy, ventilation, seizure management, and stoma care plus so much more! We care for and support people of all ages, in the community, and in their home. The client you will be supporting has Motor Neurone Disease, she requires Ventilation, Peg management, Catheter Care and Suction.

Due to her diagnosis of MND this lady does present with mental health issues such as depression, changes in mood and forgetfulness. She is bedbound and requires a hoist for all transfers.

Motor Neurons Disease Is a rare condition effecting the brain and nerves. Symptoms of MND include muscle weakness, twitches, slurred speech, and difficulty swallowing, the symptoms become worse over time. As MND progresses the patient may have trouble breathing, produce excessive saliva, have changes in mood and personality and be unstable when moving

Skills & Requirement

Previous experience in a care assistant role is useful but otherwise, the care assistant skills and attributes needed are:
