Job description
Plan and manage the implementation of projects or program components, and ensure high quality delivery within scope, budget, and schedule without losing sight of the project's business goals.Ensure identification and full integration of all work streams and dependencies, which may be performed by globally dispersed team members, and which encompass technical, business process, and organisational change readiness work.Communicate timely project information, issues, risks, or status to the various stakeholders through appropriate methods and channels.This position reports to the Global IT PMO. Working environment: very complex, globally distributed organisation on multiple timezone, with diverse, multi-cultural stakeholders. As such, travel as well as adjustments to working hours may be required from time to time.In performing these key responsibilities, the Senior PM is expected to adhere to the Global IT Project Framework and apply best practices in the knowledge areas of project management as follows; Integration Management. Address or escalate issues that may impact the successful outcome of the project.Establish credible schedules with effort-based, resourced tasks or activities, regularly statuses, with managed critical path and manage time-phased project budget with regular variance analysis and re-forecasting. Resource Management: Manage and motivate project staff, allocate appropriate people to project roles, taking into consideration all the complexities of working on a major global project with a diverse team. Some specific tasks include:o Understand the expertise required by the project, acquire these resources externally. Manage complex resourcing issues that accompany shared or non-dedicated resources, matrix-ed resources or resources with no direct reporting relationship. Manage virtual teams with a mixture of onshore and offshore team members, and diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Undergraduate Degree (e.g., BA, BS) or equivalent experience
- PMI PMP certification preferred; PgMP a big plusKnowledge
- Knowledge and understanding of the issues surrounding technologies used in large global organisations with complex and distributed operating environments.
- Expertise in multiple project life cycle methodologies used with technical projects, such as:o SDLC (waterfall, RUP, Agile, etc) in application development or COTS implementations. Note, for Infrastructure PMs: infrastructure deployment framework also Project management methods (CPM, Critical Chain, Prince, etc)o Process quality management methods (Lean, Six Sigma, ITIL, etc)
- Understanding of professional services firms culture and way of working.
- Knowledge of the principles of programm and portfolio management defined by industry standards bodies.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Project 2007 or later (able to utilize the tool to establish, maintain and manage the critical path, establish and manage shared enterprise resources, status the project).
- Highly developed facilitation skills (formal training in this technique preferred).
- Practical application of estimation and risk management techniques• Demonstrated skills in problem solving and conflict management.
- Demonstrated ability in successfully executing integrated plans in at least 2 large complex international projects of a technical nature.
- Political savvy as well as sensitivity to the interpersonal dynamics in a rapidly changing organisation and the consequent ability to flex personal style accordingly.
- Experience in integrating business process and organizational change readiness components in a cross-functional or enterprise project.Professional Qualifications
- Experience with Infrastructure projects, strongly preferred
- IdAM experience is a plus.
