Job description
- Inspect freight to determine commodity based on National Motor Freight Classification descriptions
- Identify proper NMFC item number, sub and class
- Verify that the appropriate NMFC item number and class are on the shippers Bill of Lading (BOL) contract
- Issue billing corrections based on inspections completed and customer contract
- Audit, correct, and resolve BOL errors and notify appropriate parties of changes
- Produce electronic Freight Inspection Reports giving details regarding shipment dimensions, cubes, densities and proper NMFC descriptions
- Produce weekly summary of workload, issues, and other activities in EXCEL spreadsheets and Lotus Notes databases
- Maintain knowledge and ability to serve as a resource to local service center for NMFC classifications, packaging, and how products are sold at market and ensure all laws, regulations, and company standards are consistently upheld
- Degree in Transportation or Engineering preferred
- 3+ yrs experience or equivalent combination of experience and education
- Legal Authorization to Work in the US
- 6 Month Contract +/-
- Shifts: Mon-Sun, 3AM-9AM
- Pay: DOE
