Job description
Develop and execute test procedures designed to prove out the functionality of new electrical/electronic components and systems for medium and heavy duty truck platforms. Ensure the compatibility of those systems with other, existing systems. Set up data acquisition equipment, conduct tests, evaluate results and report conclusions.
Deliver test results and conclusions via formal, written technical reports.
Work closely with product design engineers, suppliers, warranty, and other departments in the product development and testing phases.
Independently prioritize assignments consistent with business goals and successfully implement projects on time and within budget, and inform management of project issues, delays and risks.
Required
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (or related area) with 4 years experience. A general understanding of embedded processor electronic control systems. Proficient in the use of electronic test equipment (DMMs, oscilloscopes, etc) The ability to troubleshoot vehicle electrical/electronic systems using design and service documentation Excellent verbal and written communications skills, and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is required. The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment is required. A commercial driver's license or the ability to obtain one is required
Preferred
Experience with developing and conducting tests, the purpose of which is to validate the functionality of vehicle systems and components. Experience with heavy-duty commercial vehicles is highly desirable. Experience with CAN or J1939 serial data bus networks is a strong plus. Knowledge of vehicle electrical and electronic systems, test instrumentation, data acquisition/analysis software and testing methodology is preferred.
