Job description
1) GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Pharmacy Assistant will be required to perform various tasks within the Pharmacy Services. of KPJ Batu Pahat SH including dispensing, preparation of drugs, reconstitution of cytotoxic drugs (where permitted) and repacking.
2) JOB DESCRIPTION
To screen in-coming prescription (In and Outpatient).
To fill the prescription according to the directions given.
To counter check the prepared drugs against the prescription.
To dispense the drugs to the patient and provide the necessary instruction.
To send all prepared/take away drugs to wards.
To compound lotions and mixtures and prepare dilutions for stock and for extemporaneous use.
To repack bulk drugs into suitable units for dispensing.
To indent for drugs, containers and labels for pharmacy use whenever required.
To assist in stock-taking.
To assist Pharmacist(s) in ward check.
To do cytotoxic drug reconstitution.
Adhere to all Acts, Laws, and Rules and Regulation governing the pharmacy services at all times.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the Pharmacist-in-charge and Pharmacist.
To carry out duties as an employee as stipulated in Occupational Safety and Health Act and Regulations 1994:-
To take reasonable care at work for the safety of yourself and other persons;
To co-operate with your employer or any other person in the discharge of any duty;
To wear or use any protective equipment or clothing provided by the employer;
To comply with any instruction or measure on occupational safety and health.
Participate actively in any other new service that is introduced by the department.
Ensure all policies and procedures of ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, Hospital Accreditation or any other Quality certification are adhered to and records maintained, if and when these programs are implemented.
Ensure the policies on patient’s and family’s rights are addressed at all times.
Ensure compliance to Patient safety goals as safety improvement measures recommended by World Alliance for Patient Safety (2008).
Ensure adhere to Standard People Practice (SPP).
Ensure to actively participate in all 5S activities.
3) JOB REQUIREMENT
Diploma in Pharmacy.
Working experience in hospital environment.
Possess certifications in BLS.
Proficient in writing and conversing in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
Caring, honest, and responsible workers.
Microsoft Office literacy
Personal attributes.
Good interpersonal, and communication skills.
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Willingness to work on scheduled hours, shifts and weekends, public holidays, and any time called during an emergency.
High integrity, patience, and attention to detail.
