Job Description:

  • Develops and implements patient safety initiatives to reduce preventable harm.
  • Analyzes patient safety data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Conducts root cause analyses and failure mode effect analyses to understand and address safety issues.
  • Collaborates with healthcare teams to design and implement risk reduction strategies.
  • Educates staff on best practices and evidence-based protocols for patient safety.
  • Monitors compliance with patient safety standards and regulations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Possesses excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills [Required]
• Understand medical technology, terminology medical procedures/treatments, their usual risks, and expected outcomes [Required]
• Ability to build relationships and facilitate multidisciplinary groups. [Required]
• Ability to prioritize a diverse workload and possess the ability to work under pressure and deadlines. [Required]
• Possesses strong knowledge of Federal Legislation and State Statutes relevant to Risk Management and Patient Safety activities (i.e. PSQIA) [Required]

Education:
• Bachelor's [Required]

Field of Study:
• in a Healthcare related field or business

Work Experience:
• Previous experience in Risk Management [Preferred]
• 2+ years of experience in a healthcare-related field [Preferred]

Additional Information:
• An equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of the stated degree requirement:  

- Bachelor’s degree OR 

- Associates degree AND 2+ years of experience in a healthcare related field: leadership, patient safety, performance/process improvement, risk management, or quality OR 

- High School Grad or Equiv AND 4+ years of experience in a healthcare related field: leadership, patient safety, performance/process improvement, risk management, or quality. 


Licenses and Certifications:
• Six Sigma [Preferred]
• Registered Nurse (RN) [Preferred]
• Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) [Preferred]

• Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) [Preferred]

Pay Range:

$66,170.74 - $123,073.07
