Job description
Seattle Pacific University seeks faculty candidates who...
- are equally oriented to the liberal arts approach to education (i.e., people concerned equally with solid scholarship in a field and the connections students must make between the various disciplines; people who can see the value of both breadth and depth in undergraduate and graduate education and have a talent for integrating their academic specialty with their Christian faith), and to the applications of such an education in the world of work.
- are abreast of developments in their fields and can find their fullest professional development in an institution which places high premium upon effective classroom teaching and mentoring, as well as upon scholarship.
- are prepared to teach non-traditional groups of students and use alternative delivery systems, including new educational technologies.
- enjoy the prospect of meeting with students to discuss their educational goals and participate in the planning of a program of studies suited to the needs of the individual student.

The Biology Department at Seattle Pacific University is a place where students and faculty engage collaboratively in constructing and refining their understanding of the biological world. All biology courses emphasize the active participation of students in the learning process. We prioritize a highly interactive community of learning both inside and outside the classroom.
