Meet your Future Neighbors
We're looking for a sharp, communications-savvy Assistant to the CEO who is based in Dallas. You might be early in your career, but you operate like someone who has been doing this for years. You're organized, structured, and relentlessly proactive. When priorities shift — and they will — you don't just rebook the meeting; you think through what else moves with it: the travel that now doesn't make sense, the prep time that just disappeared, the three other people whose days are affected. You're a great human interface: every person who interacts with the CEO's office walks away feeling their time was valued and their needs were anticipated.
At Nextdoor, we offer a warm and inclusive work environment that embraces a hybrid employment model, blending an in office presence and work from home experience for our valued employees. This role requires travel approximately one week per quarter. The hiring team will go over these expectations with you if you are being considered for a role near one of our offices in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, New York, and London.
The Impact You'll Make
Reporting to the Executive Operations and AI Lead, you'll provide dedicated support to the CEO across three core areas:
Scheduling and Support
- Manage the CEO’s calendar – scheduling meetings, coordinating logistics, and resolving conflicts – in close partnership with the Executive Operations and AI Lead and Executive Business Partner team
- Keep the CEO’s day running smoothly – anticipate needs, flag issues early, and ensure he’s prepared and on time across all commitments
- Serve as a reliable, proactive point of contact for internal and external stakeholders reaching out to the CEO’s office
- Help establish the culture and energy of Nextdoor’s Dallas office – you’ll be one of the faces of the CEO’s office and a connector for the team on the ground
Travel and Logistics
- Manage end-to-end full travel coordination: flights, hotels, ground transportation, and detailed itineraries
- Attend and support the CEO at internal and external events, including off-sites, speaking engagements, and key moments that require an on-the-ground presence
- Coordinate with the Dallas facilities team on any CEO-related office needs
CEO Communications
- Collaborate closely with the Communications team on CEO-facing initiatives, announcements, and key moments
- Track the cultural, political, and industry landscape to brief the CEO and identify thought leadership opportunities
- Prepare the CEO for high-profile media opportunities, including briefing documents, talking points, and background research, and help staff opportunities in partnership with the EVP of Communications
- Support the CEO's social media presence and written communications, including drafting posts, correspondence, and content for review and approval
What You'll Bring To The Team:
- A systems mindset. You see the calendar, travel, prep, and people around the CEO as one connected system — when one piece moves, you already know what else needs to shift
- Exceptional organization and structure. You build systems, checklists, and rituals that make complex coordination look easy, and nothing falls through the cracks on your watch
- Relentless proactivity. You're three steps ahead — anticipating needs, surfacing issues before they become problems, and following through without being asked twice
- Exceptional judgment. You know what to escalate and what to handle yourself, who needs the CEO's time and who doesn't, what's urgent and what can wait
- You're trusted with sensitive information and confidential context, and you treat both with care
- Composure under pressure. When priorities shift or things get hectic, you stay calm, reprioritize quickly, and keep everyone around you steady
- A strong human interface. You're warm, professional, and discreet — the kind of person internal and external stakeholders trust and enjoy working with
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. You know how to say something clearly and make it land
- Proficiency with AI tools as a core part of your workflow, not an afterthought
- Fluency across social media platforms and an intuitive sense for what works where
- At least 1 year of professional experience in communications, social media, marketing, operations, or a related field
- A degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or a relevant field is preferred
- Eagerness to explore and apply AI and emerging technologies to reimagine how work gets done
