About the role
Sanctuary https://sanctuary.co builds nature - led, wellness - centered communities that feel alive. We are a US-based real estate development company creating homes and spaces that blend design, nature, and human connection. Our first 135 acre residential community in the Texas Hill Country is designed with:
🌱 Non-toxic materials
💧 Clean water and filtration systems
âš¡ EMF-conscious design
🌿 135 acres of preserved land and eco - sensitive planning
We are a global team (spread across 8 countries) of designers, architects, engineers, and dreamers building spaces that restore and inspire. For us, it’s not just where people live - it’s how they live.
Our vision is to bring Sanctuary to major cities around the world: healthy, sovereign communities that sit on the edges of every modern metropolis.
We're hiring an Architect who can hold both the big picture and the fine detail at once. This role sits at the intersection of large-scale site planning and precise architectural execution - someone who can move fluidly between master planning decisions and the specifics of individual residential or commercial assets. You'll act as the connective tissue between leadership, design teams, and external partners, keeping everything technically aligned and moving forward. The ideal candidate must be capable of managing large-scale site planning while simultaneously refining the design details of specific residential and commercial assets.
What you'll work on
- Large scale site planning: Oversee the development of extensive land areas, conduct feasibility studies, and optimize unit placement to ensure efficient land use.
- Conceptual design leadership: Lead the spatial planning for key community assets (clubs, gyms, wellness centers) and residential clusters from initial massing to coordination-ready sets.
- Architectural coordination: Serve as the primary technical liaison between leadership and specialized teams, integrating design updates across all departments.
- Spatial optimization: Evaluate and adjust architectural layouts to improve circulation and area efficiency without compromising the aesthetic narrative.
- Stakeholder & vendor management: Coordinate with external vendors, fabricators, and consultants to ensure design specifications are met during the execution phase.
- Documentation & handover: Ensure all technical information is organized for seamless handovers between teams or for the reactivation of paused projects.
What we're looking for
Must-have skills
- Design & modeling: Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp or Rhino.
- Visualization & presentation: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) for creating presentation packages and briefs.
- Regulations & construction: Solid knowledge of zoning, building codes, and engineering coordination.
- Strategic thinking: Ability to understand how architectural details impact the overall master plan.
- Project management: Proficiency in managing multiple design fronts simultaneously and meeting deadlines.
- Technical communication: Ability to translate business requirements into clear instructions for design teams and vendors.
- Problem solving: Agility in proposing spatial solutions for terrain or budget challenges.
Preferred background
- Experience working on large-scale residential or mixed-use master plans
- Exposure to wellness, nature-led, or design-forward real estate projects
- Prior experience coordinating across architecture, engineering, and construction teams
- Prior exposure to US-based projects, or comfort working within US design and zoning frameworks
Hiring process
Stage 1: Initial screening call
Stage 2: Technical task/assignment
Stage 3: Final interview with the hiring team
