Job description
WELCOME TO CROSBY, THE NEXT-GENERATION LAW COMPANY
We're a team of technologists and legal experts collaborating closely to reimagine corporate legal services from the ground up. We build proprietary technology and human-in-the-loop workflows to radically enhance the lawyer-machine relationship. Our mission is to review complex documents faster than ever and with perfect quality.
We're a team of 45 in NYC and growing fast. Our founders bring experience from Cooley, Ramp, and Google, and our team includes operators from companies like Stripe, Meta, Vanta, Hume AI, and more. We're backed by Sequoia, Lux, Index, BCV, and Elad Gil, and our clients include some of the fastest-growing companies in tech: Cursor, Clay, Braintrust, Serval, and more. We 10x'd revenue last year and are on track to do it again. Demand is growing faster than we can keep up with.
Legal is one of the last major industries untouched by software. We're building the tools and workflows that will define how AI and humans collaborate on complex knowledge work.
THE ROLE
As Member of Product Staff for Core AI Product, you will own Crosby's AI redlining system: the product our lawyers use to review every contract that comes through Crosby. You'll work directly with our lawyers, our Applied AI engineering team, and our design team to build a product that delivers higher-quality legal work, faster, every quarter.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Drive product direction. Own the vision, product and roadmap end to end for our redlining product. Take the product surface from 0 → 1, then scale it across all contract types to unlock full automation.
- Own the eval system. Design and operate the evaluation infrastructure that tells us whether the redlining product is improving and why.
- Partner deeply with lawyers. Spend significant time with our internal legal team and design partners to surface what good looks like, where the system breaks, and what's worth automating next.
- Define and analyze metrics. Translate quality, automation, and customer outcomes into measurable signals that drive direction.
- Champion velocity. Move quickly under ambiguity; ship, learn, iterate.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Experience. 5+ years of product management experience, with a track record building AI/ML-powered products at an early-to-mid stage.
- AI product depth. You've worked on AI applications: written evals, reasoned about model behavior, picked tradeoffs between agentic architectures. Personal time spent in the AI sauce is a strong plus.
- Detail-oriented and excited to go deep on a new domain. You'll spend significant time with lawyers and become a quasi-domain-expert on legal contracts and review workflows.
- Startup DNA. You thrive in ambiguity, move with urgency, and have proven success in early-stage startup environments.
- Technical fluency. You can engage with engineering on architecture, agent design, and eval infrastructure. You don't need to write code.
- Bias to action. You ship and iterate; you don't over-plan.
- Ownership. You take full responsibility for outcomes, not just deliverables.
IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Hands-on experience building AI/ML-powered products in production
- Experience working with domain experts to shape an AI product (legal, medical, financial, scientific)
- Background that includes seeing a product evolve from early stage to scale
WHY WORK AT CROSBY
- Foundational impact. You'll own the most important product surface at the company and shape how AI changes legal work.
- Competitive salary and equity compensation.
- Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.
- Unlimited PTO.
- In-person team in NYC with a collaborative, high-energy environment.
