Position Overview International Motors is hiring a Category Lead – MRO to manage multiple product categories within the MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) environment across all plants in both Mexico and the United States. These MRO items primarily include consumables required to support the production process. The Category Lead – MRO will execute the strategic sourcing plan, leveraging purchasing volumes to drive cost efficiencies and optimize supplier performance. This role involves developing and maintaining strong relationships with key vendors across both regions, ensuring reliable supply, competitive pricing, and alignment with operational requirements. The individual will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers in Mexico and the U.S. to support continuous improvement and operational excellence. Responsibilities Execute the strategic sourcing plan for MRO categories, leveraging purchasing volumes to achieve cost savings and improve supplier performance. Manage multiple MRO product categories, including consumables that support production processes across U.S. and Mexico facilities. Develop, negotiate, and maintain supplier agreements to ensure competitive pricing, quality, and reliable supply. Build and sustain strong relationships with key vendors across both regions, driving collaboration and continuous improvement. Partner with internal stakeholders, including maintenance and operations teams, to align sourcing strategies with business needs. Conduct spend analysis and market research to identify cost reduction opportunities and inform sourcing decisions. Monitor supplier performance through KPIs and implement corrective actions when necessary. Ensure accuracy and integrity of pricing, contracts, and item master data. Lead cross-functional initiatives to improve procurement processes and operational efficiency. Communicate effectively with stakeholders and suppliers at all levels to support strategic objectives. Manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high attention to detail. Support supplier coordination and sourcing activities across international markets, particularly the U.S. and Mexico. Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree and at least 1 year of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience OR Master's degree and no experience OR At least 3 years of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience Additional Requirements Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. We do not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status). Desired Skills Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with maintenance and operations teams. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage stakeholders and suppliers at all levels. Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities, including experience with spend analysis and sourcing strategies. High attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy in pricing, contracts, and item data. Ability to manage multiple categories and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Experience working with suppliers across the U.S. and Mexico is preferred.
