Job description

About the Role

The Director of Global Field & Events will own the strategy and execution of our event and field marketing programs worldwide. This is a role for someone who has built and run field marketing programs at scale with deep experience working alongside partner ecosystems and who is equally comfortable presenting an event strategy to executive leadership then personally running a sponsored tradeshow booth the following week. You will be responsible for creating impactful, on-brand experiences that generate pipeline, deepen customer and partner relationships, and position A-LIGN as a leader in cybersecurity compliance. This requires close collaboration with Sales, Partnerships, and Revenue Operations to ensure every event is purposefully targeted, well-executed, and tied to measurable outcomes. This is a player-coach role. You will lead a small team and be responsible for building the infrastructure for a high-performing, scalable events function — while staying close enough to execution that nothing falls through the cracks. The ideal candidate has a strong bias for action, brings structured thinking to complex programs, and holds both themselves and their team to a high standard of delivery.

Reports to

Executive Vice President of Marketing

Pay Classification

Full-Time, Exempt

Responsibilities

  • Own and execute A-LIGN’s global field and event marketing strategy across hosted, sponsored, and partner programs from event selection and planning through follow-up, including internal programs such as SKO and President’s Club
  • Build and maintain a high-impact partner field marketing program, working closely with the Partnerships team and channel partners to co-develop joint event activations, co-sponsored experiences, and partner-facing field plays that drive shared pipeline
  • Design and deliver memorable, on-brand experiences (executive dinners, conference presences large and small, field activations) that engage prospects, clients, and partners at every stage of the funnel
  • Partner tightly with Sales and Revenue Operations to ensure every event has clear targeting, defined engagement goals, and measurable pipeline contribution; own the accountability loop from event to outcome
  • Develop and maintain an event playbook that codifies best practices, improves consistency, and drives continued optimization across the entire event portfolio
  • Manage the global events calendar, budgets, vendors, and logistics with precision, personally ensuring that details are locked and execution is flawless across all programs
  • Set goals, track performance, and report on field and event program results with rigor; use data to continuously improve both execution quality and strategic prioritization
  • Lead and grow the events team providing direction, developing capabilities, and building the infrastructure for long-term program scale and impact

Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field

EXPERIENCE

  • 7+ years in field marketing, events marketing, or experiential marketing in B2B environments, with meaningful exposure to SaaS or technology companies
  • Demonstrated experience building and executing partner or channel field marketing programs including joint event planning, co-marketing activations, and partner enablement through events
  • Track record of owning both strategy and hands-on execution simultaneously; this is not a role for someone who delegates delivery
  • Experience managing event programs at scale across multiple geographies, audiences, and event types
  • Proven ability to drive pipeline and measurable business outcomes through field and event programs, with data to back it up
  • Strong project management capability: you run structured programs, not ad hoc events
  • Willingness to travel for major events (approximately 25–40%)

SKILLS

  • Execution-first mindset: you hold yourself to the same standards you set for your team, and you take personal ownership of outcomes, not just plans
  • Strong cross-functional collaborator who builds trusted working relationships with Sales, Partnerships, and RevOps and earns credibility through results
  • Sharp attention to detail across complex, multi-workstream programs without losing sight of the strategic picture
  • High sense of urgency and adaptability; you move fast, make good decisions under pressure, and course-correct without needing management oversight
  • Clear and confident communicator, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Motivated by ambitious goals; comfortable setting a high bar and holding a team accountable to it
