A Day in the Life
As a Laboratory Technician Intern, you’ll be responsible for assisting multiple projects where you will have increasing interaction with our multi-disciplinary staff, regulatory agencies and clients. You will be part of a strong team of committed professionals.
The compensation for this role is $14.00 per hour.
Schedule: Monday - Friday
To thrive in this role, you’ll be comfortable taking ownership of the following responsibilities:
We are currently seeking a Part-Time Laboratory Technician Intern to be based in our Richmond, VA lab.
- Sample extractions/preparation
- Preparation of reagents for lab use and/or shipment
- Weighing out samples
- Retrieving samples from walk-in sample storage
- Cleaning laboratory glassware and laboratory areas
- Maintaining organized records of sample preparation and analysis
- PH adjustment of samples
- Overhead projects designed to improve efficiency or accuracy of analyses
- Assisting the Group Leaders and analysts in acquiring and inventorying consumables, chemicals, and parts for instrumentation
- Comply with Quality Assurance Program and other policies
- Comply with Health and Safety Plan
- Other duties as assigned by Group Leaders or the Technical Director
Your Expertise and Skills
These requirements reflect the knowledge, skills and abilities that help you do your best work here.
- Currently enrolled in a University program studying Chemistry, Environmental Science or similar degree
- Proficient with Google and Microsoft office Suite products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

- Sitting, standing, and walking
- Lifting 50 pounds several times a day
- Overhead lifting of over 20 pounds
- Works in an office and/or laboratory environment
- May be exposed to hot and cold environments
- May occasionally work shifts up to 12 hours in duration
