Job description

 

Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of everything that needs to be done.  Anantara employees always find new ways to look after the business, their guests, and their colleagues. Within this, the key responsibilities for this position are:

  • Maintain and updates marine vehicles record system of the resort.
  • Supervises all repairs and maintenance of all HVAC systems and related equipment in a water base vehicle, such as but not limited to speedboat, dive boats, barge, whalers, rowing boat, pontoon boats, dhonis, etc.
  • Records all service & repair done for boats, vehicles and equipment & keeps log of spare parts used, ensuring proper operation of equipment.
  • Carry out Preventive Maintenance program.
  • Carry out minor fabrication work and metal work when required.
  • Advices improvements to the present system in order to optimize the operating efficiency and economy of the said system.
  • Ensure execution of Preventive Maintenance programs.
  • Ensures implementation of Anantara policies, standards and procedures in relation to Engineering.
  • Participates in conducting Fire Prevention Training Programs.
  • Supports and initiates programs for the improvement in procedures and the reduction of engineering costs.
  • Maintain records of all-important information pertaining to operation of marine vehicles and Engineering staff on assigned duty.
  • To ensure that the engineering services comply with established standard and quality.
  • Ensure that pending work from is discussed in morning briefing.
  • Determine cleanliness by inspection of engineering areas, marine workshop, to ensure that all the areas are clean and tidy at all time.
  • Assist storekeeper to organize accurate ordering of spare parts.
  • To co-ordinate with Assistant Manager - Marine Technical Services to follow up daily work if required.
  • Ensure safety at work for all engineering staff.
  • To perform shift duties when assigned by Assistant Manager - Marine Technical Services
  • Ensure that issued hand tools are kept in proper working order
  • Records daily work activity on the daily work summary.
  • When assigned with duty phone, to respond to requests appropriately.
  • Attend the engineering daily morning briefing.
  • Attends meeting or training sessions as required by management.
  • Complies with ANANTARA Safety, Fire and Hygiene Policy and Procedures.
  • Complies with Departmental Standards and Procedure (SOP).
  • Participates with ANANTARA Environmental Program.
  • Participates with the resort’s energy conservation program.
  • Does all jobs or tasks assigned by supervisor or managers regarding engineering work
  • Interacts – cooperates with others in the Engineering Department.
  • Interacts and cooperates with resort contractors as directed
  • Interacts with other departments when necessary to provide additional or specialized services for functions, promotions and festivities.
  • Acts as Fire Brigade Team Member when assigned.

 

Qualifications

• Certified in Marine HVAC technician.
• Two years operating experience in a hotel marine engineering department.
• Familiar with the operations and priorities of all other hotel operating departments.
