Essential Responsibilities:
A successful candidate will create an inclusive, positive, and empowering team environment, while leading global development teams. A successful candidate will also provide leadership and direction to the development team and drive clear decisions based on business objectives.
Duties include (but are not limited to):
- Provide strong technical leadership for a global team of engineers for all product design aspects of the assigned system. Ensure design controls through the design lifecycle.
- Assure designs meet requirements with a strong focus on delivering a high-quality product. Includes risk mitigations, standards compliance, and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure user requirements are properly translated into system requirements (work with Product Management and Clinical Teams).
- Support and coordinate with interfacing organizations such as manufacturing, sourcing, services, the digital organization, and advanced technology developments.
- Provide key leadership in maintenance programs, fulfillment, and New Product Introduction
- Coordinate with the Program Manager and the Lead Program Integrator in creation of key design tollgates for the project as it relates to broader program goals.
- Provide domain expertise to serve as the main connection between the hardware, systems, and software functions to deliver the highest quality product.
- Coordinate with the scrum teams (product owners and scrum masters) and feature leads in design planning and execution through the lifecycle of the project or program.
- Drive design evolution across multi-generation product releases with an emphasis on platforming, re-use, and reliability. Provide input to future roadmap strategies.
- Provide oversite and guidance for the resolution of issues within product development, field, and manufacturing.
- Execution of Risk Management processes and flow to requirements leading to effective mitigation of product risks.
- Communicate progress to all levels of the organization.
- Mentor and develop less experienced personnel.
- Provide leadership operating within the Scaled Agile Framework.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science or closely related discipline
- At least 8 years of engineering or relevant experience
- Proven ability to develop timely and effective solutions for challenging design problems
- Demonstrated ability to pursue tasks to completion
- Broad exposure to Hardware/Software/Systems design, and technical depth in one or more engineering disciplines (Electrical, Systems, Software, etc.)
- Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated experience in successfully leading moderate to complex projects involving a broad range of teams and/or engineers.

- Knowledge of GE Healthcare tools and processes (Ex. Agile, PDM, ALM, MyWorkshop, DOORS, Jama)
- Experience working in Agile or Scaled Agile Framework
- Previous experience working with regulated medical products and/or Ultrasound
