Job description
The Title Clerk is responsible for processing and managing all vehicle title and registration documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations. This role ensures accurate and timely completion of paperwork related to vehicle sales, contributing to a smooth customer experience and supporting the dealership’s operational efficiency. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and thrives in a fast-paced automotive environment.
Responsibilities:
- Process vehicle titles, registrations, and related documents for new and used vehicle sales
- Submit title paperwork to the DMV in a timely and compliant manner
- Verify accuracy of all incoming and outgoing title documents, including liens, taxes, and fees
- Maintain organized records of all title transactions, ensuring audit readiness
- Prepare and submit all required reports related to titles and vehicle registrations
- Communicate with banks, customers, and state agencies to resolve title discrepancies
- Monitor and follow up on outstanding titles, liens, and registration issues
- Ensure compliance with dealership policies and state/federal regulations
- Assist accounting office with deal processing and documentation as needed
- Provide excellent internal customer service to Sales and Finance teams
- At least 2+ years of Title/DMV or business office/dealership experience
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer skills (CDK, Reynolds a plus)
- Professional and team-oriented
Required:
- All applicants must be authorized to work in the USA
- All applicants must be able to demonstrate ability to pass pre-employment testing to include background checks, MVR, drug test, credit report, and valid driver license.
Compensation: $24.00 per hour
Schedule:
- Full Time
- Monday through Friday availability
