Educational Sign Language Interpreter - Fox Hollow Elementary School

Serving as a member of the educational team, support students with hearing loss and staff, which may include hearing and deaf people. Minimize linguistic, cultural, and physical barriers, and facilitate all communication among deaf/hard of hearing (D/HH) students, hearing personnel, and other hearing students in an educational environment through the use of American Sign Language or mode of communication appropriate for the language level of the student(s). Work in tandem with special education and general education teachers to implement and adjust instruction based on the needs of students. Implement differentiated strategies specific to the need of students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing to support them with: understanding lectures and classroom instruction; reading, writing, and math proficiency; academics and social needs outside of the classroom. Tutor academic classes and lessons as needed.
