Job description

We are looking for an experienced Lead Level Designer to guide our team in building engaging, re-playable, and scalable experiences.

You will help to craft unique experience, both in single player and online settings while experimenting with established mechanics and systems of the Dying Light Franchise.

Join us to help shape the future of our wide portfolio of open world games, played by millions of players world wide.

Your daily tasks:

  • Leading a team of Level Designers in creating high-quality, re-playable levels tailored for both single player and online gameplay, aligned with the game’s core pillars.

  • Making sure the vision of the game is consistent along the levels; by clear communication and reviews with actionable feedback.

  • Collaborating closely with Game Design, Tech, Online/Backend, and UX teams to ensure levels integrate seamlessly with live systems (matchmaking, progression, events).

  • Incorporating player data, telemetry, and user research insights to iterate on level design and improve player experience over time.

  • Balancing gameplay spaces for fairness, readability, and performance in multiplayer environments.

  • Establishing and evolving best practices for online level design, including modularity, scalability, and maintainability.

  • Working with production to scope and prioritize deliverables in a live development environment.

  • Mentoring and growing your team, fostering ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Promoting a culture of collaboration, feedback, and player-first thinking.

  • Identifying hiring needs and actively participating in recruitment processes.

  • Still working hands-on, directly in the editor with your team. We’re looking for a leader who is also a top-level specialist.

  • 10+ years of experience in game development (or at least one shipped AAA title) as a Senior/Lead Level Designer.

  • Experience working on multiplayer or online games (co-op, PvP, or live service) is highly preferred.

  • Strong understanding of level design for online gameplay, including: re-playability and systemic design; multiplayer balance and fairness; encounter design in co-op/PvP contexts; player flow and readability in competitive environments.

  • Hands on knowledge of level design tools and game engines.

  • Understanding of live game development cycles and content pipelines.

  • Ability to design engaging gameplay spaces that support both moment-to-moment gameplay and long-term player goals.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills.

  • Experience working in cross-disciplinary teams in an agile environment.

  • Good command of English.

Nice to have:

  • Experience working on live service games or post-launch content.

  • Experience working with telemetry and player data to inform design decisions.

  • Understanding of networking constraints and their impact on level design.

  • Basic knowledge of architecture.

  • Artistic skills (drawing, painting, 3D, etc.).

What we can offer:

  • A wide array of benefits: private medical care, life insurance, pro-health campaigns, gifts for different occasions.

  • An outstanding work atmosphere in a highly-skilled team of professionals, with flexible working hours, no dress code, and full support of the dedicated HR Business Partner.

  • A constant stream of company newsletters, PR & project updates so you will always be in the know.

  • Many opportunities for personal development: a dedicated development budget for each employee, extra two paid days for training and CSR, stable career paths, extensive internal and external training, and financing of English and Polish language classes.

  • State-of-the-art offices filled with chillout zones, a fully equipped kitchen, a gym (Wrocław office), and a free car park (Wrocław/Warsaw office).
