We are looking for a Mechanical Designer to join our team!

In This Role, You Will:

  • Evaluate and select materials and components for product designs in marine/subsea environments
  • Conduct conceptual and detailed product design using 3D CAD software and support tools
  • Prepare, maintain, and verify design documents including drawings, specifications, BoMs, and reports
  • Analyze structural and pressure rated designs for subsea use through calculation and FEA
  • Define component and product test requirements, including related equipment and safety measures
  • Check design documents for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to design requirements
  • Identify, review, interpret, and apply relevant industry rules, specifications, and codes 
  • Provide technical assistance necessary to support product marketing and sales
  • Provide technical support to purchasing, production, and QA for materials, processes, and special requirements
  • Ensure all designs meet required specifications and quality, while also ensuring design for cost, design for reuse, design for manufacture and design for test
  • Support other design groups, particularly in areas of expertise
  • Actively support and promote workplace health, safety, and wellness
  • Perform other relevant duties as may be assigned

What You Bring:

  • A BASc or BEng degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline, with 4 or more years of relevant experience, or an Engineering Technology Diploma with 7 or more years of relevant experience
  • Well-established computer skills, including 2D and 3D CAD (PTC Creo is an asset)
  • Experience conducting engineering analysis of structural and/or high-pressure (subsea) rated designs is an asset
  • Experience with integrated control systems, incorporating fluid, electrical, and electronic components, is an asset
