Job Summary

The Machinist is responsible for operating and maintaining CNC and conventional machines to produce precision components in accordance with engineering specifications, quality standards, and production schedules.

Key Responsibilities

Operate CNC / conventional machines (e.g. milling, turning, grinding) to produce parts as per drawings.
Perform machine setup, tool changes, and basic programming adjustments where required.
Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions accurately.
Monitor machining processes and ensure product quality meets required specifications.
Conduct in-process inspection using measuring tools (e.g. vernier caliper, micrometer).
Troubleshoot minor machine issues and report abnormalities to supervisor.
Maintain proper documentation of production output and quality records.
Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives (e.g. Lean, 5S).

Requirements

Certificate / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Machining, or related field.
Minimum 1–3 years of experience in machining environment (fresh graduates may be considered for junior roles).
Basic knowledge of CNC machining and tooling.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Familiar with measuring instruments and quality checks.
Good discipline, attention to detail, and safety awareness.
Willing to work on shifts if required.
