Job description

Responsibilities & Duties

 

Role Overview

  • You will own the full analytics lifecycle: Requirement gathering, data acquisition, modelling, visualization, automation, governance, data accuracy and enablement.

  • You will translate HR business questions into metrics, models, and intuitive reports that inform decisions on headcount, attrition, recruiting, payroll, performance, and workforce planning.

  • You will partner with HR, IT, and business leaders to prioritize a scalable roadmap of analytics products and automations.

 

1.      Data Engineering & Modelling

  • Build robust ETL pipelines using Power Query (M) and SQL to integrate HRIS, ATS (SmartRecruiters or similar Applicant Tracking System), payroll, and survey data.

  • Implement data quality checks, lineage, and refresh orchestration.

 

2.      Analytics & Visualization

  • Develop executive and operational dashboards in Power BI with DAX measures, drill-throughs, and row-level security.

  • Create standardized metric definitions (e.g., headcount, joiners/leavers, retention, DE&I, time-to-fill, offer acceptance).

  • Optimize datasets and reports for performance, usability, and accessibility.

 

3.      Automation & Process Improvement

  • Build Power Automate flows to streamline HR processes (e.g., report distribution, alerts, approvals, data syncs).

  • Automate recurring reporting to reduce manual effort and cycle time.

  • Integrate with SharePoint for curated data access, content lifecycle, and self-service.

 

4.      Governance & Compliance

  • Enforce data privacy, security, and RLS consistent with HR data protection standards.

  • Maintain documentation, data dictionaries, and user guides; establish versioning and release controls.

  • Support auditability with metric lineage, assumptions, and archival practices.

 

5.      Stakeholder Engagement & Enablement.

  • Gather requirements, prototype quickly, and iterate based on feedback.

  • Conduct training and office hours to build HR self-service capability.

  • Communicate insights clearly to HR leaders and cross-functional partners.

Qualifications & Requirements

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • 3 to 5 years in HR analytics or people data roles with end-to-end BI delivery.

  • Advanced Power BI (DAX measures, relationships, aggregations, performance optimization).

  • Strong SQL for data preparation, joins, and transformation at scale.

  • Proficiency in Power Query (M) for complex shaping and incremental refresh patterns.

  • Experience building production-grade automations in Power Automate.

  • Hands-on with SharePoint for governed report distribution and collaboration.

  • HR domain expertise across headcount, attrition, recruiting funnel, pre-hire support, performance, Payroll & Time.

  • Strong data storytelling, stakeholder management, and documentation skills.

  • Commitment to HR data privacy, security, and ethical use.

 

Preferred Qualifications

·       HRIS data experience (e.g., Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM) and ATS platforms.

·       Exposure to Azure data services (e.g., Synapse, Data Factory, SQL Database, Dataverse) or APIs/Graph connectors.

·       Scripting for analysis/automation (Python or R) and advanced statistical methods (trend, cohort, survival analysis).

·       Experience with semantic modeling, enterprise deployment pipelines, and CI/CD for Power BI.

·       Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform governance and Center of Excellence best practices.
